Run Progression
A typical Nightreign run spans 3 days. Each day has a daytime exploration phase and a nighttime boss encounter. The map shrinks after each day.
Day 1
Setup and exploration — gather gear and meet your team
Objectives
- Explore the starting zone and loot initial equipment upgrades
- Collect runes to level up at the central bonfire
- Find at least one relic from chests or enemy drops
- Locate the map fragment to reveal zone layout
- Meet up with teammates and establish roles for the run
- Upgrade your starting weapon if smithing stones are available
Tips
- Stick together early — solo exploration on Day 1 is risky with base-level gear.
- Prioritize weapon upgrades over level-ups if you find smithing stones.
- The map shrinks after Day 1, so explore outer zones now before they become inaccessible.
- Mark high-value loot locations for teammates using the ping system. [Speculative]
Objectives
- Survive the first Night boss encounter as a team
- Protect your lowest-HP teammate during the fight
- Use the environment for cover during AoE attacks
- Collect boss drops for powerful early relics
Boss Strategy
The Nightfall Sentinel is an introductory boss with telegraphed attacks. It primarily uses wide sweeping melee attacks and a ground slam AoE. Tank players should hold aggro from the front while DPS attacks from behind. The boss becomes enraged at 30% HP, increasing attack speed — save your hero abilities for this phase. Support heroes should focus on keeping the Tank alive. [Speculative]
Tips
- The boss's ground slam is always preceded by a 2-second wind-up — this is your dodge window.
- Spread out during AoE attacks to avoid team wipes.
- First Night boss is the easiest — use it to learn your hero's combat flow with the team.
- Collected boss drops may include rare relics. Distribute based on team needs, not personal preference.
Day 2
Escalation — harder enemies, better loot, map shrinks
Objectives
- Explore newly accessible zones revealed by the map shift
- Find and upgrade equipment to +6 or higher
- Collect at least 2-3 relics per team member
- Locate the Night 2 boss arena and scout approaches
- Purchase consumables (boluses, grease, throwing pots) from merchants
- Hit key stat breakpoints for your hero's primary stat
Tips
- The map has shrunk — previously safe areas may now be closer to danger zones.
- Day 2 enemy density is higher. Consider splitting into pairs (never solo) to cover more ground.
- Legendary relics start appearing on Day 2 — check every chest and hidden alcove.
- Coordinate relic distribution: give damage relics to DPS, survival relics to Tank/Support.
Objectives
- Defeat the second Night boss — significantly harder than Night 1
- Coordinate hero abilities for burst damage windows
- Manage flask usage carefully — Night 3 is coming
- Collect advanced relics from the boss drop table
Boss Strategy
The Twilight Wyrm is a massive dragon-type boss with fire breath, tail sweeps, and a devastating dive attack. Phase 1: The Wyrm stays grounded — Tank holds aggro at the head while DPS attacks the legs. Phase 2 (50% HP): The Wyrm takes flight periodically, raining fire. Spread out and use ranged attacks. Phase 3 (25% HP): The Wyrm becomes frenzied on the ground. Save your strongest hero abilities for this phase. Moon Priestess frost debuff is extremely effective here. [Speculative]
Tips
- Fire resistance gear makes a significant difference in this fight.
- When the Wyrm flies, group near the Support hero for healing — ranged DPS should keep attacking.
- The tail sweep has a surprisingly wide hitbox — stay at medium range or very close to the body.
- Night 2 boss is the team-check. If your composition struggles here, adjust relic distribution before Night 3.
Day 3Final Day
Climax — final preparations and the ultimate boss battle
Objectives
- Max out weapon upgrades — aim for +9 or +10
- Complete your relic build with final synergy pieces
- Stock up on all consumables — this is your last chance
- Scout the final arena and plan positioning
- Ensure all team members are at appropriate stat levels
- Discuss strategy and ability timing for the final boss
Tips
- The map is now very small — enemies are concentrated and dangerous.
- Day 3 loot quality is the highest, but so is the risk. Move quickly and efficiently.
- Final preparations matter: the difference between a smooth final boss and a wipe is often one missing relic or upgrade.
- Communicate your flask count with your team. If someone is low, prioritize their safety during exploration.
Objectives
- Defeat the final Night boss to complete the run
- Coordinate all three hero abilities for maximum burst
- Execute the boss strategy discussed during Day 3
- Survive — this is the culmination of 40 minutes of preparation
Boss Strategy
The Night Sovereign is a humanoid demigod-type boss with multiple phases. Phase 1: Aggressive melee combos — the Tank must hold aggro while DPS identifies the combo patterns (3-hit string, 5-hit string, or grab). Phase 2 (65% HP): The Sovereign summons adds. Support should focus on crowd control while DPS burns the adds before they overwhelm the team. Phase 3 (35% HP): The Sovereign empowers with Nightreign energy, gaining AoE darkness attacks and much faster combos. This is the DPS race — use all hero abilities, all consumable buffs, and coordinate burst windows. Phase 4 (10% HP): Desperation phase — the Sovereign goes berserk. Pure survival until the final opening appears. [Speculative]
Tips
- This boss has a grab attack that can one-shot squishier heroes. Learn the telegraph (raised left arm).
- Phase 2 adds are the most common wipe point. AoE heroes (Storm Caller) should save cooldowns for this.
- Moonlight Sanctuary placement in Phase 3 can make or break the fight — place it centrally.
- In Phase 4, the boss's attacks become predictable despite being fast. Dodge rhythm: roll, roll, pause, roll.
- A successful run with all 3 players alive grants bonus rewards. Revive teammates when it's safe.
